Performance isn’t a plugin. It’s a stack.

Every site we build runs on infrastructure we engineered ourselves. Hand-tuned, performance-first, and the reason our clients’ sites consistently load in under 2 seconds.

Most agencies don’t talk about infrastructure. We do.

There’s a reason your last website was slow. It wasn’t the design. It wasn’t the plugins. It wasn’t WordPress.

It was the hosting.

Cheap shared hosting. Default Apache configuration. No object caching. No CDN tuning. No HTTP/3. No edge optimisation. The same setup the agency gives every client because it’s easy, not because it’s good.

We do it differently. Every SkyVoque site runs on infrastructure we built and maintain ourselves. Not a generic hosting reseller package. A stack we engineered, tuned, and benchmark-tested.

This page explains what’s under the hood and why it matters for your business.

What powers a SkyVoque site.

Plesk on optimised VPS

We host on dedicated and VPS servers running Plesk, configured for WordPress workloads. Not shared hosting. Not “managed WordPress” platforms with hidden limits. Real servers, properly configured.

Redis object caching

WordPress hits the database hard by default. Redis caches frequently-requested data in memory which means your pages load in milliseconds, not seconds, even under load.

WP-Rocket for page caching

WordPress with full editor access. No proprietary lock-in. You can hire us forever, hire someone else, or take it in-house. Your call.

Image optimisation pipeline

Every image converted to WebP and AVIF on the fly. Lazy-loaded below the fold. Properly sized for the device serving the page. Compressed without visible quality loss. Most WordPress sites we audit serve 4MB hero images that should be 200KB, we fix that, automatically, on every single image you upload.

NGINX as the web server

NGINX, not Apache. Faster request handling, better concurrency, lower memory footprint. Configured with custom rules for static asset caching, GZIP/Brotli compression, and HTTP/2 + HTTP/3 support.

Cloudflare CDN with custom rules

Your site is served from edge locations near your visitors, not from one server in London. Static assets, images, even some HTML cached and delivered from the closest possible point. Plus DDoS protection, WAF, and rate limiting included.

Security hardening

Server-level firewall. ModSecurity. Login protection. Disabled XML-RPC. Restricted file editing. Daily backups to off-site storage. Malware scanning. The boring stuff that prevents the disasters.

Google Workspace for email

Your transactional and business email handled by Google Workspace, separate from your web hosting. Better deliverability, no shared-IP spam issues, professional setup.

What this stack delivers.

Sub-2s load times

Most of our sites load fully in under 2 seconds on a 4G connection. PageSpeed Insights consistently in the 90+ range. Core Web Vitals: green across the board.

99.9%+ uptime

Real uptime, monitored 24/7. Not “we’ll get to it Monday.”

Edge delivery in 200+ cities

WordPress hits the database hard by default. Redis caches frequently-requested data in memory which means your pages load in milliseconds, not seconds, even under load.

Black Friday-ready

Our infrastructure absorbs traffic spikes. Cloudflare handles the load at the edge. Origin servers stay calm. Stores stay open.

Performance is a business metric. Not a technical one.

This isn’t engineering for engineering’s sake. Site speed directly affects three things that make or break a business online:

Google rankings. Core Web Vitals are a confirmed ranking factor. Faster sites rank higher.

Conversion rate. Every additional second of load time drops conversions by ~7%. A site that loads in 2s instead of 4s isn’t a 60% faster site, it’s a meaningfully more profitable one.

Cost of acquisition. If your paid ads land on a slow page, you’re paying Meta and Google to deliver visitors who bounce. Fast sites stretch every pound of ad spend further.

When we say “performance-first,” this is what we mean. The stack pays for itself.

Can I bring my own hosting?

Yes, but with caveats.

Google rankings. We can build on hosting you already have. We just can’t promise the same performance numbers.

If you’re on a major managed WordPress host (Kinsta, WP Engine, SiteGround), we can usually get strong results. If you’re on shared hosting (GoDaddy, HostGator, Bluehost), we’ll be honest: you’re capping the upside of everything we build.

The Strategy Call is the right place to figure this out. We’ll look at your current setup and tell you whether to keep it, upgrade it, or move to ours.

Quick questions before you book.

Do you offer hosting as a separate service?
What about server location?
Can you migrate me from another host?
Is my site really safer with you?
What if my site grows fast?
